Wether you're working out, walking the dog or looking to learn something new - podcasts are a constant provider of new materials and knowledge. From book reviews to guided meditation, even to revision support. The world of podcasting is on the rise, theres no better time to dip your hand in and see what you might enjoy!

I've put together a list of some podcasts I have been loving this month. My taste is a bit broad, but I can guarantee there is a podcast out there for everyone.

  1. 'Crime Junkie' by Ashley and Brit.

With over 200k ratings on Apple Podcasts, it's clear to see the audience Ashely and Brit have created. 'Their people' as they say, are people who enjoy the weird, whacky and somewhat scary world of true crime and mystery. With each episode ranging from 30 minutes to an hour, this podcast is great for long drives. Why I like it: I have always been interested in true crime, but not enough to sit and watch a documentary. This is a perfect medium for me! It is so well produced and to the point. I really enjoy how much the audience is taken into consideration. I usually listen while in the car, as listening while on a dog walk has had me looking over my shoulder!

My Rating: 8 out of 10.

2. 'Food For Thought' by Rhiannon Lambert

With a grand 4.9 out of 5 stars on Apple Podcasts, Rhiannon Lambert, registered Nutritionist takes the health and fitness scene by storm with her continuing series' of her incredible podcast. Bringing new guests and professionals to the stage each week, Lambert constantly wows the audience with the knowledge readily available to learn and admire.

Why I like it: I am a science junkie so anything with a 'no way' behind it has me sold. I enjoy how calming Lambert's voice is, it's really one for those morning walks! Since becoming a mother, there has been new podcasts on delivery and maternal matters. I'm really enjoying learning about something now, that later in life I will think about and revisit!

My Rating: 10 out of 10

3. 'The Healthcode' by Kurt Tilse and Sarah Stevenson

The iconic Aussie couple who has taken YouTube by storm, has now dived deep into the realm of podcasting. Pairing the comedy of their #relatable life, Sarah and Kurt bring some serious realness into the world of Health and Fitness. Keeping the balance between tips for inside and outside of the gym, they also have guest stars appear from meditation experts to business experts. A good time all round.

Why I like it: I have watched Sarah's channel on YouTube for a good few years now, so when I found out about The Healthcode I immediately jumped on to have a look. From the start I was hooked! Spending an hour listening guarantees me a giggle, a life lesson and also some new knowledge learnt. I really love this one, plus the socials and aesthetic is so well done. They have recently started filming their podcasts for YouTube, too.

My Rating: 9 out of 10. I would like more backed up Science from time to time.

4. 'Hazel & Katniss & Harry & Starr' by Brenna Clarke Gray and Joe Lipsett

Oh to be 14 again. Joe and Brenna do a wonderful job of taking you back to your youth, while being critical and 'Woke' on the present day matters. Wether you enjoy reading YA books as an adult or a teen, the reviews aren't as much about the age targeted audience, rather about the themes of the book and how well the writing has been done. |ncorperating the audience in every episode, I cannot fault these guys on how well they respond and adapt to new material, and requests from their community. For a relatively small demographic, Joe and Brenna really rock the book review scene.

Why I like it: It's always been a dream of mine to publish a book, and maybe one day I will. But podcasts like Joe and Brenna's keep the spirit of dystopian novels alive in my heart. It's so light and easy to listen to, but they really hit some key points, in society and on the books pages. I can't fault their voices and their insight!

My Rating: 7 out of 10. I would like a better sound quality, but that's just me being picky. More episodes please!

5. 'Digestible Podcast' by Bethany Hardy

I know. Shhh. New on the scene is Digestible. A podcast written to make complex ideas interesting, and approachable. From matters such as What Happens When We Sleep, to Living with Chronic Pain, Digestible sets to unravel new and exciting information to the listener every week. Only in it's first season, Digestible hopes to bring more guests and professionals on to really dive into those questions we all have surrounding our bodies and minds.

Why I like it: Because it's my baby! Haha. No, really, I like it because It makes me happy. I listen back and think, "Would I learn something if I was listening to this as someone who didn't know this information?". And honestly, I think I would. But maybe that's just me being bias. I guess you will have to listen and make your decision, and let me know!

My Rating: Ok I can't rate my own podcast. But I think it's pretty cool.

So there we have it. My Top 5 Podcasts of July 2020. I say July, because I am constantly discovering new ones! I will continue to share what I have found, as I really recommend giving the world of Podcasts a whirl. You never know what you may find, and learn!

See you soon,

Bethany xx
